The triumphal procession of the square bass recorders began in 1975, when the well-known recorder player Frans Brüggen bought three of the first basses for his ensemble Sour Cream Trio.
Since 2012, the instruments have been built in Fulda under the name "Paetzold by Kunath". There are two model series:
- MASTER made of plywood and
- SOLO made of RESONA.
RESONA is a 3D printing material developed in-house from renewable raw materials.
The material is thus climate-neutral.
