micK (microphone, pickup) incl installation. Especially for bass recorders Some words about the micK (microphone, pickup) incl installation. Especially for bass recorders The MicK microphone is specially designed for amplifying bass recorders. It picks up the sound of the instrument directly from the inner bore. This has the advantage that ambient noise is almost not picked up at all. Even in a louder environment, the bass recorder can thus be picked up and amplified cleanly. The cable is a mini-XLR, which is compatible with the AKG pinout. This means that the instrument can be used with a transmitter unit, which gives additional freedom of movement on stage, or via a mixing console with phantom power. To install MicK in your instrument, a small hole is drilled in the head. A small threaded sleeve is inserted into this hole. You don't have to worry about this, though. Your recorder already has some drill holes and without those, the usability would already be very limited. Of course, this work should be done in a professional workshop. The MicK can be installed and removed from the instrument in a few simple steps. When the MicK is removed, a small plug, which is included in the delivery, closes the hole in the head.
