The set of tuning rings for the Kunath star recorders enables the instruments with the order numbers (70080-KUN, 70180-KUN, 50080-KUN) to be retuned to 432Hz.
This tuning was recommended by Rudolf Steiner. It has a more calming effect than the normal tuning to 440Hz. Its effect is more radiant and energising.
The small tuning ring is inserted into the tenon heart, which is located at the lower end of the recorder head joint. This prevents unwanted expansion of the inner bore at this point.
The larger ring is slid over the tenon of the middle joint. The acoustic rule on the basis of which the tuning rings function: The longer an instrument is, the deeper it sounds.
