The set of tuning rings for the Kunath star recorders makes it possible to retune the instruments with the order numbers (70080-KUN, 70180-KUN, 50080-KUN) to 432Hz. This tuning was recommended by Rudolf Steiner. It has a more calming effect than the normal tuning to 440Hz. Its effect is more radiant and driving. The small tuning ring is inserted into the peg heart located at the bottom of the recorder headjoint. It thus prevents unwanted widening of the inner bore at this point. The larger ring is slid over the tenon of the middle piece. The acoustic rule on the basis of which the tuning rings work: The more long an instrument is, the deeper it sounds.
